Volunteer Finance and Administration Manager, HealthpromHealthProm HealthProm needs a volunteer finance and administration manager (say 20 hours per month, flexible on timing and location). HealthProm is a charity based in North London. It is currently run by one full-time member of staff and around 14 unpaid volunteers who provide administrative support. Strategic direction is determined by a Board of Trustees who are also responsible for selecting and appointing the Office Manager. It provides support for NGOs in Russia and other CIS countries in Europe and Asia in the sphere of prenatal and neo natal care and care of other vulnerable groups; its only office is in London. The charity raises general funding through membership fees and promotional activity and bids for grants for specific projects from trust funds, governmental and supranational organisations. With this funding it runs projects essentially aimed at improving technical skills of its local partners. The books are currently maintained by the charity, and records are held on a computer in the charity's office in Kentish Town, using Sage Line 50 version 11 software. The books are maintained essentially on a cash accounting basis. All accounts are in Sterling. There are around 35 bank entries per month. The book-keeping covers two principal areas: the operation of the London office and the running of the individual projects. Each project is allocated a separate department number in Sage.
