The Sigrid Rausing TrustSigrid Rausing Trust, Eardley House, 4 Uxbridge Street, London W8 7SY initial contacts by e-mail info@srtrust.org http://www.sigrid-rausing-trust.org/
The Trust was set up in 1995 by Sigrid Rausing to promote international human rights. The grant programmes are Civil and Political Rights, Women’s Rights, Minority Rights, and Social and Environmental Justice. Each programme has a number of sub-programmes and the trust’s grant budget for 2009 is £20million. The trust gives two key types of grants. Main Grants currently vary in size between £15,000 and £850,000. The trustees make decisions about main grants at their meetings three times a year, usually in February, June and October. The Trust does not accept unsolicited applications, all those wishing to apply should register an enquiry at the website. Main grants are awarded on a competitive basis for either one, or three years, and can be renewed following a new application upon invitation. Small Grants are grants of up to £15,000. They are awarded throughout the year and are intended for small organisations, who find it difficult to fundraise from international funding agencies. Several small grantees have gone on to receive main grants. Applications for a small grant must come with a recommendation from an existing grantee or another funding agency. Enquiries made through the website. If there is interest in the project, NGO may be invited to submit a full application. The Trust may also consider, on an exceptional basis, an Advancement Grant to existing grantees, designed to support a major infrastructure step change for an organisation. Under exceptional circumstances, the trust can provide Emergency Funds, as a response to a sudden human rights crisis or in order to protect human rights defenders - upon a recommendation by an existing grantee, another funding agency, or a contact in the field. Grant enquiries can be submitted at any time. No |
