Annual Conference 2008: Changing Attitudes to Disability in Russia, Ukraine and Central Asia

The BEARR Trust Annual Conference 2008 took place on 21 November 2008 in the conference suite at BEARR's new premises at CAN-Mezzanine in Southwark. 

The conference looked at how attitudes have changed and are changing in the regions covered, and what NGOs can do to help promote and support change.  It brought together theorists and practitioners, from the UK and from the region, with separate sessions devoted to each region. 

The programme and report are below.  A shorter report and more detailed accounts of the work of some of the speakers' NGOs will be published in Newsletter No 52 in early 2009.
