Art by Blind Artists

The Museum of Bread in Saint Petersburg opened a charitable exhibition “Eyes of the Soul” presenting art pieces by blind and visually impaired painters and sculptors. 
      

The exhibition has been arranged by the Museum of Bread and the Art Studio of Blind Artists and Museum of the Roerichs family in Saint Petersburg. 
      

In 1976 the artist and teacher Y.A. Nashivochnikov founded the art studio under the Shelgunov House of Culture of the All-Russian Blind Association and headed it till 1993. Thanks to his developments visually impaired people got an opportunity to engage in practically all kinds of visual art.
