The main theme of courses run by the Public Chamber’s University during 2017 has been the successful development of social projects.

Attendees representing various organisations studied the basics of working with a target audience, discussed real problems involved in creating a business model for social projects, talked about their own private motivations, and working as part of a team.

“The aim of the University is to bring together all the young and talented leaders of civil initiatives and to facilitate an exchange of experiences. Five new modules were introduced at the University during 2017 tailored to individual groups, i.e. newly formed and established NGOs, State authorities, business and the media”, said Yulia Zimova, a member of the Federation’s Public Chamber.

The final University course of the year took place on 29 and 30 June in Moscow. Attendees took part in workshops led by generally recognised experts from the non-profit sector. About 150 representatives from various NGOs dropped in on the classes.

The first two civil initiative leaders’ courses were held in Krasnoyarsk and Rostov-on-Don.

In all, some 800 people from 54 Russian regions and 50 experts from various fields have received training at the University during 2017.
