Bids invited for Social Entrepreneur of Russia 2020 catalogue

The Gladway Foundation for the development of media projects and social programmes has announced this news.
“This yearly competition allows everyone to see the whole spectrum of social enterprise as a new phenomenon in the Russian economy, especially now, one week after the inclusion of a definition of social entrepreneurship in federal law,” said Vladimir Vyner, Director of the Foundation and the contributing author of the catalogue.
This year, the creation of the catalogue involves the ‘Salt’ Centre for Innovation Promotion, the ‘Towards Change’ Foundation for Support of Social Initiatives in the area of Children, and Impact Hub Moscow.
“The creators of the catalogue are organisations working in the Russian market and actively supporting social entrepreneurs. In joining forces, we will be able to broaden coverage, and attract a greater number of projects from the regions, various industries and various models. This will allow us to jointly monitor the development of projects and strengthen their support,” says Yekaterina Khaletskaya, the Director of Impact Hub Moscow.
The Deputy Director of the Salt Centre Andrey Andrusov explained that this year, more information will be required about the projects: the authors want to understand what resources are needed to support the projects, what social effects they will achieve, and what methods of evaluation will be used.
Projects will also be classified according to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This will be essential for the convenience of investors and other people who want to support social entrepreneurship in Russia.
The collection of materials for the new catalogue has already begun. Social entrepreneurs are invited to fill out a questionnaire, and attach a photo and video to be placed in the collection. This edition will be published at the end of autumn this year.
